Strategy Execution & Change Management

A clinical professor at CUNY Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and guest speaker at some of the World’s leading business schools (including Harvard, London Business School, MIT, Stanford and Wharton), Robert Barnwell’s academic, research, and consulting focus is on performance improvement and strategic change management. As Robert explains,

“After working with companies undergoing corporate-wide performance improvement and strategic change initiatives, I noticed an interesting trend: A year or two later, the vast majority had either failed to achieve their stated objectives or had abandoned their programs entirely. On the other hand, a smaller group of companies far surpassed their original goals… achieving stronger competitive positions, higher absolute revenues, operating profits, cash flows, and greater market capitalizations.”

As a result, Robert began a long-term and ongoing research project to identify best practices that would help corporate leadership both (i) rapidly improve short-term performance and (ii) better position their companies competitively over the longer-term.

Best practices and insights uncovered during the course of this research are detailed within several executive briefings, white papers, and other resources available on this website as well as Robert’s forthcoming book Lead, Follow or Get the Hell Out of Our Way: Driving Rapid and Lasting Strategic Change (Fall 2011).
