Robert G. Barnwell

Robert G. Barnwell is a consultant and advisor to senior management on performance improvement and strategic change initiatives. In addition, Robert also serves as a professor in the MBA program of CUNY Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and a regularly invited guest speaker at such universities and business schools as Harvard, London Business School, MIT, Stanford, and the Wharton School of Business. His academic and professional expertise is focused on competitive strategy, strategy execution, and strategic change management.

Robert has considerable strategy consulting and corporate finance experience working with companies undergoing significant strategic, operational and financial change. On a limited basis, he works with select companies to advise and co-manage their strategy execution and corporate revitalization programs. His industry experience includes:

  • Reduce lead-time for implementing strategic and change management initiatives
  • Rationalize costs and increase profitability (operating margins)
  • Enhance asset utilization and operating efficiencies
  • Strengthen operating cash flows and the Company’s liquidity and credit profile
  • Support share price and market capitalization

 

Robert is also the author of the forthcoming book, Lead, Follow or Get the Hell Out of Our Way: Driving Rapid and Lasting Strategic Change (Fall/Winter 2011). He has provided background information and/or been quoted by several business media outlets including Bloomberg News, CNBC, The Deal, Dealmaker Magazine, Euromoney, Financial Times, Investment Dealers Digest, Mergers & Acquisitions Journal and the Wall Street Journal.

He completed his masters degree in business administration at New York University and received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
